Sri. Madhappa, the Chief Officer of the Fire Extinguish Department of Kuvempu Nagar Branch, Bangalore was the guest lecturer. His thirty one years of service has fetched him two gold medals by the State and the Central Government.
Sri. Madhappa taught the NSS volunteers the way to protect themselves and their neighbours from a fire crisis. This he said was the responsibility of each and every individual.
Sri. Madhappa first defined the different types of fires and gave tips about First Aid. There was also a demo to extinguish / stop fire with the help of equipments and fire extinguishers.
Lastly he added that correct address with land marks has to be informed to the fire extinguisher to arrive at the spot on time.
On the whole it was an informative session and the visual demo was effective in teaching the students
